INDUSTRIES, MEDIA | AGCOM extends deadline for Influencer Code of Conduct

On 16 July 2024, the Italian Communication Authority (AGCOM) issued Resolution 271/24/CONS, extending the deadline for the technical round table established for the draft of a code of conduct for influencers. Initially, Resolution 7/24/CONS, issued on 16 January 2024, which introduced guidelines to ensure influencers comply with the Italian Audiovisual Media Services Code (TUSMA), established a round table to propose further regulations. The table’s role also includes planning public awareness campaigns to promote responsibility in influencer marketing. Originally set to publish the code of conduct within 120 days, the deadline has been extended by a further 90 days.
