On 2 April 2026, the Italian Competition Authority (ICA) fined certain companies of the Revolut Group (Revolut) Euro 11 million for engaging in unfair commercial practices in violation of Articles 20, 21, and 22 of the Italian Consumer Code. Specifically, the ICA ascertained that Revolut had failed to provide clients with clear and comprehensive information regarding, among others (a) the additional costs and limitations associated with commission-free investments and (b) the conditions and procedures for the suspension, restriction and blocking of payment. Furthermore, the ICA ascertained that Revolut had given misleading and inadequate information as to the fact that only holders of personal accounts would be able to obtain an Italian IBAN.
