ANTITRUST | The EU Commission on the review of Merger Guidelines
On 8 May 2025, the EU Commission has launched a public consultation addressed to citizens, businesses or associations to gather opinions on the periodic review of the Guidelines concerning the review of concentrations between undertakings with an EU dimension (Concentrations). As declared by the EU Commission, the review concerned how the EU Commission should appropriately assess factors such as innovation, efficiency, market resilience, timeframes and the capital-intensive nature of competition within the review of Concentrations in key strategic sectors, as well as sustainability, the evolving defense and security context.
