Ludovico Anselmi

Ludovico Anselmi graduated with a law degree from the Catholic University of Milan in 2004, with a dissertation titled “Binding force and renegotiation of long term contracts”. He then obtained a PhD in Intellectual Property law at the University of Pavia, with a dissertation titled ”The civil liability of internet service providers”. Ludovico served his traineeship at Vanzetti & Associati law firm and from 2008 to 2012 he worked at Latham & Watkins (Milan office), where he operated as the attorney in charge of all issues relating to intellectual property law. He joined Orsingher Ortu Avvocati Associati in 2012. He primarily focuses on industrial property and intellectual property, his practice including litigation and transactional support (at national and international level). Ludovico is a member of the editorial staff of the legal review “AIDA – Annali italiani del diritto d’autore, della cultura e dello spettacolo” and authored several publications relating to intellectual property law. In connection to these subjects, he also speaks at specialist symposia. Ludovico is a member of the Milan Bar and became partner of Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in 2020. He speaks English.

Luigi Baglivo

Luigi Baglivo graduated from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan and subsequently practised at a leading Italian law firm and a law firm in New York. He joined Orsingher Ortu as a partner in 2021. Luigi is an expert in banking and financial law with more than 20 years’ experience advising, inter alia, banks, financial intermediaries, and payment institutions. He has acquired an in-depth knowledge of the intermediaries he assists on a continuing basis, both with regard to the structuring of new products and services and in the context of specific transactions. Luigi also has developed significant experience in advising on matters related to managed savings, having assisted clients in the context of all the institutional aspects related to the constitution of and crisis of CUIs. Luigi also advises on the rules applicable to intermediaries who deal with their clients on a remote basis. Luigi speaks regularly at conferences and seminars.

Nicola Barra Caracciolo

Nicola Barra Caracciolo graduated with laude from the Genoa University in 1993. After some years with the firm of Prof. Ferrarini e Giudici in Genoa, he worked for the law firm Pavia e Ansaldo; in1999 NBC joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer where he became partner in 2004. As of 1 January 2013 Nicola joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati. Nicola specialized in corporate, commercial and finance law, notably in domestic and multi-jurisdictional transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, public M&A, dismissals of companies and IPOs. He represented several companies and financial institutions in significant corporate transactions, restructuring and reorganizations. Nicola was admitted to practice in 1996. He is fluent in English.

Federico Bonetti

Federico Bonetti graduated in law cum laude from the University of Pavia School of Law in 1998 and was awarded a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the New York University School of Law. He started his career at the Milan offices of Vita Samory, Fabbrini e Associati and has worked for a number of leading Italian and international law firms (most recently in the Milan office of Studio Lombardi Segni e Associati), primarily in the areas of Mergers & Acquisitions (including listed companies) and Capital Markets. Federico has advised clients on a wide variety of corporate and M&A transactions, including cash or exchange tender offers and mergers of industrial and financial groups listed on the Italian Stock Exchange. Federico joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in 2018. He was admitted to practice in 2003. He speaks English fluently.

Paolo Canal

Paolo Canal graduated in law from the University of Modena in 1983. After two previous experiences in primary Italian law firms, he worked for the law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer from 1999 to 2012. Paolo has developed a significant experience in the sector of acquisitions, corporate joint ventures and other corporate extraordinary transactions, as well as general commercial contracts, particularly in the field of private procurement contracts and commercial distribution, assisting Italian and foreign clients.  As of January 2013 Paolo joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati. He was admitted to bar in Italy in 1988. He speaks English and French.

Elisa Cazzani

Elisa Cazzani graduated cum laude from the University of Ferrara in 1997, where she also collaborated with the Chair of private law.  After a brief experience in the Corporate Affairs office of a major services company listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, in 2003 she joined the firm of Professor Valerio Tavormina. She joined collaborated with Gatti Pavesi Bianchi as from 2012 and, in 2014, she joined Giovanardi Pototschnig & Associati. Elisa gained significant experience of commercial, corporate, banking and financial intermediation law, including insolvency matters, providing assistance and legal advice also in the pre-contentious phase, in mediation proceedings and in the implementation of settlement agreements. In addition, she has considerable experience in arbitration proceedings, both as attorney and a member of arbitration panels, including before the Milan Chamber of Arbitration at the Milan Chamber of Commerce. Elisa joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in September 2020. She was admitted to the Italian Bar in 2002 and, since 2015, has rights of appearance before the Italian Supreme Court. She speaks English.

Edoardo Cazzato

Carlo Edoardo Cazzato graduated in law from the University of Bari “Aldo Moro” with top marks (J.D. 2005). He also gained a PhD in Commercial Law at the same University and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in EU Competition Law and an LL.M. in International Business Law at King’s College London and De Montfort University of Leicester respectively. After his internship at the Italian Competition Authority (AGCM), he practised at Studio Legale Libertini – Scognamiglio, DLA Piper and Lipani Catricalà & Partners, where in 2017 he became the coordinator of the antitrust and regulatory practice. He joined Orsingher Ortu Avvocati Associati as a partner in 2021. Edoardo assists clients on a wide range of issues in the field of European and Italian antitrust, competition, merger control and consumer law. He acquired a broad experience in TLC and regulated sectors such as media, energy and pharmaceuticals, advising clients before the AGCM, the European Commission, the Italian Administrative and Civil Courts and the European Courts. Since 2019, Edoardo has been a Non-Governmental Advisor of the European Commission’s DG Competition. He is Adjunct Professor of Antitrust Law at the Mercatorum University and the author of several publications on competition law, including a handbook and a monographic work. He was admitted to practice in 2009 and, since 2021, he has rights of appearance before the Italian Supreme Court. Edoardo speaks English and has a basic knowledge of French.

Sergio Alberto Codella

Sergio Alberto Codella graduated cum laude from the University of Rome LUISS in 2003 and was awarded a PhD in labour, trade union and social security law at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Sergio began his career at Studio Legale Pessi e Associati, then collaborated with the firm NCTM, has been then part of Boursier Niutta & Partners and finally joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in 2022. Sergio has an extensive experience in assisting clients in all labour, trade union and social security law matters. He lectured at the University of Rome LUISS and authored several publications on employment, trade union and social security law matters. He has been appointed labour law examiner within public exams commissions. Sergio is an EELA – European Employment Lawyers Association member and general secretary of AIDR – Italian Digital Revolution Association. He was admitted to practice in 2007 and speaks English fluently.

Domenico Colella

Domenico Colella graduated with a law degree cum laude from Bari University and was then involved in civil law research by Professor Michele Costantino. He was in-house counsel at Banca Cattolica S.p.A. and afterwards associate at the Rome office of the international law firm Baker & McKenzie. In 2001 he co-founded the firm Portolano Colella Cavallo where he led the IP, Outsourcing and Technology practices of the firm for over ten years. In 2012 Domenico joined Orsingher Avvocati Associati. Domenico has an outstanding experience in assisting Italian and foreign clients on matters pertaining to information technology, especially in connection with outsourcing projects and M&A deals. In those fields, he is often called upon by his clients – market leaders – to handle the most complex projects in Italy. He was a lecturer of the Master on Business Law at LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome and Luigi Bocconi University in Milan; he has authored various publications on Information Technology and outsourcing contract law, has co-authored the “Doing Business” report published by the World Bank. He is past Co-chair of the Privacy, E-Commerce and Data Security Committee of ABA (American Bar Association) International Law and Practice Section, a member of the Tax & Legal Committee of AIFI (Italian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association), former Local Representative for Italy and member of the Board of Directors of ITechLaw. He was admitted to practice in 1997 and, since 2011, he has rights of appearance before the Italian Supreme Court. He is fluent in English.

Marco Consonni

Marco Consonni graduated with a law degree at the University of Milan in 1988. He worked for Frere Cholmeley Bishoff and, from 1995 to 1998, for Andersen Legal, becoming a partner of the firm in 1996. He has been a co-founder of the Milan branch of the firm Galgano and head of the TMT practice up to 2007 when the firm merged with Dewey & LeBoeuf where he has been responsible of the Italian IP/IT practice. In 2011 Marco and his group joined Orsingher Avvocati Associati sharing the project of a firm focussed on the TMT industries. For many years Marco has been active in the intellectual property, technology and media sectors, advising its clients – which include major international players – in a broad range of IT and IP related transactional matters such as licensing agreements, distributorship, content agreements and clearance, Internet and e-commerce strategy, JV arrangements and corporate transactions, investments and start-up, commercial contracts in general. His work is also related to commercial litigations especially for technology and communication companies. He was admitted to practice in 1992 and, since 2015, he has rights of appearance before the Italian Supreme Court. Marco speaks English, French and Spanish. Cesare De Falco

Cesare De Falco graduated in law in 2007 from Bocconi University in Milan. He attended a post-graduate course in employment law at Università Statale di Milano in 2010. Cesare was a member of the Employment department of BonelliErede in the Milan office from 2007 to 2015, and in 2011 he was seconded to Slaughter and May in London. Cesare joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in July 2015. He advises national and international clients on all aspects of employment and labour law, and he has gained significant experience of advising on management of relationship with top managers, corporate crises, including mass redundancies, corporate reorganisation for extraordinary transactions, drafting of employment and agency contracts, and litigation. He was admitted to the Italian bar in 2010 and he is fluent in English.

Alessandro De Palma

Alessandro De Palma graduated with honours in 2000 from the Università degli Studi di Milano, where he worked for several years with its Law School (Department of Labour Law). Alessandro started his practice at Toffoletto Law Firm, and, in 2008, he joined BonelliErede Law Firm. He advises clients on all aspects concerning employment and labour law. Alessandro joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in July 2015, where he deals with employment and labour law matters. He was admitted to practice in 2003, he is a partner AGI – Italian Association Labour Lawyer since 2006 and partner EELA – European Employment Lawyers Association. He speaks English and French.

Francesca Flego

Francesca Flego graduated from the University of Catania in 2004. She served her traineeship with Clifford Chance, was associated at Clifford Chance’s corporate department and starting from December 2010 worked in Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. As of 1 January 2013 Francesca joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati. She gained significant experience on in corporate, commercial and finance law, notably in domestic and multi-jurisdictional transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, dismissals of companies and public takeovers. Francesca was admitted to practice in 2007 and became partner in 2020. She is fluent in English.

Luca Garramone

Luca Garramone graduated from the University of Rome La Sapienza in 2000, has obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in labour and social security law from the same university and a Ph.D. in labour, trade union and social security law form the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He can pride himself of a participation in the competitive Seminar of comparative labour law “Pontignano XXI” patronised by AIDLaSS and hosted by the University of Siena. Luca started his career at Studio Legale Pessi e Associati, founded his own firm., subsequently becoming a partner of the firm NCTM and then of Boursier Niutta & Partners. He joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati as a partner in January 2022. Pierfrancesco Giustiniani

Pierfrancesco Giustiniani graduated magna cum laude from Milan State University Law School in 1992 and after having accrued a significant experience in the law firm Toffoletto & Associati, he joined Erede e Associati in 1996 (which in 1999 became Bonelli Erede Pappalardo), where, as a partner from 2001, took up the position as head of Corporate & Finance Department. In 2011 he founded Hi.Lex – Avvocati Associati and then joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in April 2016. In nearly 30 years of professional activity he has gained a significant experience in relation to M&A and other extraordinary transactions, both domestic and international, capital markets transactions (such as takeover bids, translisting, IPO’s and capital increases), as well as in relation to corporate advice, litigation and commercial contracts. He has been a board member (and member of various internal committees) and a statutory auditor in several companies. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Manfredi Leanza

Manfredi Leanza attended Scuola Militare Nunziatella in Naples and graduated with a law degree cum laude from Rome University “Tor Vergata” in 1998. Manfredi began his career at the Bruxelles offices of Chiomenti Studio Legale practising Italian and EU competition law. In 2001 he moved to the Milan offices of the firm and developed a significant expertise in banking and finance, working with top tier national and international players on a variety of corporate transactions. Manfredi represented primary credit institutions and companies in connection with both domestic and cross-border financing transactions, with a particular focus on acquisition finance, real estate finance, project finance and restructuring. In 2015 Manfredi joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati adding his finance expertise to the corporate practise of the Firm. Manfredi was admitted to practice in 2001. He is fluent in English.

Pietro Masi

Pietro Masi graduated in law from the University of Rome Tre with a corporate law dissertation on “The recording of leasing contracts in financial statements”. Pietro practised for a number of years at the law firm of Professors Mario Bussoletti and Antonio Nuzzo, and subsequently at a number of other leading firms. Pietro’s practice is mainly in the area of corporate law, with a specific focus on mergers & acquisitions and joint venture transactions. He also has significant experience of contentious proceedings (both litigation and arbitration) in relation to disputes involving contracts, corporate law and bankruptcy. Pietro was admitted to practice in 2008 and to plead before Italian supreme court in 2020. He joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in 2018. He speaks English fluently and has a good working knowledge of Spanish.

Giuseppe Mazzaglia

Giuseppe Mazzaglia attended Collegio Augustinianum and graduated with a law degree from the Catholic University of Milan in 2002. After some years with the law firms of prof. Gustavo Ghidini and prof. Fabio Franchini, he worked at leading international firms, among which Ashurst LLP and Grimaldi law firm. He assists clients in a wide range of Civil Law, Commercial, Corporate, Banking and Finance proceedings, for both routine as well as arbitration cases. He also has an extensive background in commercial contracts and specifically with distribution agreements (agency, commission, franchising, sales concession, and business procurement), freight agreements and tender contracts. Giuseppe joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in 2015. He was admitted to practice in 2005 and speaks english.

Valeria Mazzoletti

Valeria Mazzoletti graduated in law magna cum laude from the University of Milan (with her thesis recommended for publication) in 1984, and was for many years teaching assistant in Civil Procedure Law at the University, under the guidance of Prof. Giuseppe Tarzia. Valeria started her legal career at the law firm of Avv. Giuseppe Tristano in Milan, specialising in corporate law. From 2004 to 2012 she was a partner at the firm of Pedersoli e Associati and, subsequently, head of the litigation department of d’Urso, Gatti e Bianchi. In November 2014 Valeria became a partner of Giovanardi e Associati (later, Giovanardi Pototschnig & Associati). She joined Orsingher Ortu Avvocati Associati in September 2020 , with Paolo Pototschnig and their team. Valeria assists clients in judicial proceedings involving civil, commercial, corporate, banking and bankruptcy issues, including in the pre-contentious phase, the commencement of proceedings and the negotiation of settlement agreements. She has specific experience in insolvency procedures and debt restructurings; and on various occasions has been appointed as a member of the Monitoring Committee of securities investment firms (SIM) and asset management companies (SGR) undergoing compulsory administrative liquidation. In addition, she has considerable experience in arbitration proceedings, both as legal counsel and as a sole arbitrator/ member of arbitration panels. She has authored numerous publications and regularly participates as a speaker on matters of civil procedure and bankruptcy law issues at conferences and seminars. Valeria was admitted to the Italian Bar in 1987 and has rights of appearance before the Italian Supreme Court as from 2000. She is fluent in English and has a basic knowledge of French.

Giovanni Nicchiniello

Giovanni Nicchiniello graduated with honors from the University of Genoa in 1998. He worked in private practice with a number of leading law firms, including CBA and BonelliErede, prior to becoming Head of M&A and Finance at Pirelli & C. Real Estate S.p.A. and, since 2004, Head of Legal Affairs at Pirelli & C. Real Estate SGR S.p.A. From 2005 to 2009 he was general counsel of the listed merchant bank Sopaf S.p.A. He returned to private practice in 2010, also working with Prof. Guido Rossi. In 2012 he became a partner at McDermott Will & Emery and, subsequently, in 2018, a partner at Hi.lex. On 1 July 2020 He joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in July 2020. His practice is mainly in the corporate finance sector, assisting clients on domestic and international M&A transactions involving regulated companies (listed companies, banks, asset management companies, funds and financial intermediaries) with a particular focus on the private debt, real estate and restructuring sectors, as well as private equity. Matteo Orsingher

Matteo Orsingher graduated with a law degree cum laude from Bologna University in 1987 and served his traineeship in Padua and Milan with the law firm of Prof. Alberto Miele. He worked for the law firm Pavia e Ansaldo from 1990 to 1999, becoming a partner in 1996. From 1999 to 2007 he was the partner head of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s Italian Intellectual Property and Information Technology department. He was the co-founder of the firm in 2007. Matteo Orsingher has many years of experience in assisting Italian and foreign clients on a broad range of matters pertaining to intellectual and industrial property, information technology, unfair competition, advertising, Internet and e-commerce, both in the contentious and non-contentious spheres. He is often called upon by his clients – market leaders or important companies – to handle the IP aspects of complex corporate and financial transactions. He was admitted to practice in 1990 and, since 2015, he has rights of appearance before the Italian Supreme Court. Matteo speaks English and some German.

Mario Ortu

Mario Ortu graduated in law at the University of Padua, with the highest marks (J.D., 1985). After his traineeship at the law firm of Prof. Miele, Mario Ortu joined the law firm Pavia e Ansaldo, where he became partner in 1995. Between 1999 and 2012 he was a partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he led the Italian corporate department and, more recently, was appointed as member of the Firmwide Leadership Team of the FIG Sector Group. As of 1 January 2013 Mario and his group joined Orsingher Avvocati Associati, that became Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati. He is specialised in corporate and commercial law and his wide range of experiences extends to (domestic and multi-jurisdictional) mergers and acquisitions, establishment of joint ventures, dismissals of companies, public takeover offers, restructurings and reorganisations. He has advised clients involved in the most relevant domestic and cross-border transactions in the last years and acts as recognised advisor of important (domestic and international) financial institutions, private equity funds and primary industrial groups. He was admitted to practice in 1989. He speaks a fluent English and has a basic knowledge of French.

Cosimo Paszkowski

Cosimo Paszkowski graduated with a law degree cum laude and dignity of press from the University of Florence in 2005 and started his practice at the Rome offices of the law firm Chiomenti. In 2014 he continued his collaboration with the firm at the Milan office, where he gained significant experience in banking and finance law, regularly assisting leading investment funds, industrial companies, banks and financial institutions in relation to corporate and financial transactions, both domestic and international. Cosimo’s practice also includes real estate finance, acquisition finance and corporate finance transactions. In 2022 Cosimo joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati, as a partner in the Banking & finance practice. Cosimo was admitted to practice in 2008. He is fluent in English.

Elisabetta Pistis

Elisabetta Pistis graduated from La Sapienza University in Rome in 2000 with a thesis in administrative law, where she also took a Masters Degree in the organisation and functioning of public administration, directed by Prof. Sabino Cassese. She completed her professional training and began practising as a qualified lawyer at the firm of Prof. Caravita di Toritto. In 2005 she joined the firm of Prof. Guarino and became a partner in 2010. The main focus of Elisabetta’s practice is administrative law in the areas of public contracts, public utilities, energy and transport, state companies, environment and commerce. She also has significant experience in contentious matters, particularly in administrative law disputes in relation to public procurement. Elisabetta is a board member of ATM S.p.A., and a statutory auditor of Ombrone S.p.A. and Berg. S.p.A (members of the ACEA Group) since 2017. Elisabetta joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in 2020. She was admitted to practice in 2004 and, since 2016 has rights of appearance before the Supreme Court.

Paolo Pototschnig

Paolo Pototschnig graduated in law magna cum laude in 1985 from the University of Milan, and was subsequently a teaching assistant at the university in Civil Procedure Law for many years, under the guidance of Prof. Giuseppe Tarzia. Paolo was a partner of Negri Clementi e Soci and a co-founder, of NTCM in 2000.. From 2011 to 2017 he was partner of Legance and, subsequently, a partner of Giovanardi, Pototschnig & Associati. In September 2020 he joined Orsingher Ortu Avvocati Associati, together with avv. Valeria Mazzoletti and a team of seven professionals. He has significant experience in managing disputes (also in the pre-contentious phases) in a wide variety of areas, including: corporate, banking, mass torts, class actions, follow-on proceedings, and in the fields of commercial agreements, distribution and advertising contracts, procurements, energy sources and telecommunications. He has assisted large and medium-sized companies, banking institutions, asset management companies, financial intermediaries, open-ended and closed-ended investment funds and prominent insurance companies, as well as managers and individuals involved in disputes concerning their corporate roles. He has considerable experience in arbitration proceedings, both as legal counsel and as a sole arbitrator or member of arbitration panels. Francesca Pulejo

Francesca Pulejo  graduated cum laude from the L.U.I.S.S. University Guido Carli of Rome. In 2001, after a period of practice at the firm of Prof. Avv. Floriano d’Alessandro, she joined Verusio e Cosmelli in Rome. As from January 2020, she joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati. She has a significant experience in contentious matters, assisting primary Italian and multinational companies as well as foreign institutions in civil, commercial and labour disputes and arbitrations. She was admitted to the Bar in 2001. She speaks English fluently.

Fabrizio Sanna

Fabrizio Sanna attended Collegio Ghislieri and graduated with a law degree cum laude from Pavia University in 2000. He obtained MJur and MPhil master’s degrees from Oxford University in 2002 and 2004, respectively and a PhD in intellectual property and competition law from Pavia University in 2004. He served his traineeship with the law firm of Prof. Luigi Carlo Ubertazzi. He worked in Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s Intellectual Property and Information Technology department from 2004 to 2007. He was the co-founder of Orsingher Avvocati Associati firm in 2007. He gained significant experience on intellectual property, advertising, data protection (privacy) and e-commerce laws both in the contentious and non-contentious spheres. His practice includes transactional matters, mainly related to IT and IP rights, including all aspects of development, production and distribution of film and TV programmes. Fabrizio represents primary enterprises within the TMT sector. He lectured Intellectual Property Law at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice and is currently lecturer in Intellectual Property and New Media at University of Pavia. He has authored a book and various other publications on copyright and design laws and is a member of the editorial committee of AIDA (Italian Annals of Copyright). He has been the secretary of the Italia group of AIPPI (2004-2020) and has seated on the Programme Committee of AIPPI International (2013-2019). Giorgio Cosmelli

Giorgio Cosmelli began his practice at the Ardito law firm in Rome (one of the first law partnerships in Italy) and became partner of the firm in 1973, when he opened the Milan branch of the firm. He was subsequently a partner of Pavia Ansaldo e Verusio and, in 1997, established the firm Verusio e Cosmelli in Rome. In 2020, he joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati. Federico Bulfoni

Federico Bulfoni graduated from the Catholic University of Milan in 2000. After having completed his professional training at the Attorney’s Office of the Municipality of Milan and at the firm of Prof. Marco Sica, he worked as a qualfied lawyer at law firms Ughi e Nunziante, Balestreri & Associati and Hilex Avvocati Associati. He focuses on administrative law and provides advice and judicial assistance in the areas of town planning and construction, public procurement, utilities, energy, environment and commerce. Silvia Ciardiello

Silvia Ciardiello graduated with a law degree from the Catholic University of Milan in 2009 with a dissertation in private international law titled “The private international law of intellectual property”. From 2010 to 2012 she worked in the department of intellectual property law of Labruna Mazziotti Segni; in Milan, where she gained a good experience in assisting clients in the main fields of intellectual property law and IT, also in the context of corporate transactions. She is a scholar in Intellectual Property and EU law at the Catholic University of Milan. In 2012 she joined Orsingher Avvocati Associati. She is a member of AIPPI. Vera Collavo

Vera Collavo graduated in law from the Catholic University of Milan in 2011. Following graduation, she practiced at the Milan office of Rucellai & Raffaelli Law Firm, where she dealt primarily with contentious and non-contentious civil law and intellectual property law matters. During her time at Rucellai & Raffaelli she was also seconded to the litigation department of an international IT company. Subsequently, Vera studied at Fordham University School of Law in New York, where she was awarded an LL.M (magna cum laude) in Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law . During that period she also collaborated, as an intern, with a U.S. law firm specialized in intellectual property and, after graduation, worked for a year in the IP&Copyright Department of a leading media company. Vera was admitted to the Milan Bar in 2014. Riccardo Giojelli

Riccardo Giojelli graduated in law cum laude from the University of Milan in 2011. Following graduation he practised at Legance – Avvocati Associati, then moved in 2017 to Giovanardi Pototschnig & Associati. Riccardo joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in September 2020. Ricccardo’s practice covers a broad range of litigation arising from civil, commercial, corporate and finance matters and commercial contracts. In the context of contentious and arbitration proceedings, he assists primary national and international corporates and financial institutions, as well as companies operating in tender, media, telecommunication and energy sectors. Davide Graziano

Davide Graziano graduated in law with honours in 2011 at University Insubria of Como, where later was a scholar in intellectual property law. He obtained a PhD in business and intellectual property law at University of Milan, with a dissertation regarding the European patent with unitary effect and the unified patent court. He worked from 2011 to 2016 for Bonelli Erede Pappalardo – BonelliErede Law Firm in the intellectual property department, and he gained experience both in the contentious and non–contentious spheres on matters concerning intellectual property, unfair competition, advertising, consumers, data protection, food and beverage, gambling and information technology. Simone Masotto

Simone Masotto graduated with a law degree from the University of Bologna. He has several year experience at leading international firms where he was active on both domestic and cross-border transactions, with a particular focus on mergers, acquisitions, private equity and joint venture transactions, as well as general commercial contracts. In particular, he worked at Beiten Burkhardt Mittl & Wegener (Munich), Pavia e Ansaldo (Milan) and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (Milan and Frankfurt). Marta Minonne

Marta Minonne graduated in law (with full marks) from the University of Milan in 2010 with a graduation dissertation on common law legal systems titled “The special relations in Common Law contracts”. She began her practice in the Intellectual Property and Information and Technology department of Dewey & LeBoeuf Milan and joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in 2012. She has significant experience of media and data protection (privacy) matters, in both contentious and non-contentious contexts, including corporate transactions. Marta has assisted a primary operator in the internet and communications sector on an ongoing basis since 2011, providing support on all data protection and information technology matters. Marta is the Italian referral contact for the AndCo Law Alliance, where she provides her assistance to local and international clients in the e-commerce, data protection, consumer protection and advertising areas. Andrea Palvarini

Andrea Palvarini attended the Collegio Augustinianum and graduated in law in 2012 from the Catholic University of Milan, with a dissertation in comparative corporate law. On completion of his legal training at a well-known boutique law firm specialising in corporate law, Andrea undertook an internship in the Corporate and Commercial Litigation departments of an international law firm in London. He joined Giovanardi e Associati (subseqently, Giovanardi Pototschnig & Associati) in 2016, where he assisted major financial intermediaries and banking institutions, real estate investors and commercial companies, former members of corporate bodies and bankruptcy receivers in judicial proceedings involving civil, corporate, banking and bankruptcy law issues. Massimo Ritrovato

Massimo Ritrovato graduated in Law from the University of Como in 2005 and has significant experience in various areas of banking and financial law, including the launch of new products and services, and their adaptation to sector regulations, the establishment of banks and investment funds, the management of situations of crisis in mutual funds, the banking and financial law profiles of M&A transactions, cross-border operations, as well as transactions permitted by the reserves of assets, in addition to cross-selling agreements between distribution networks. Massimo graduated in Law and, prior to joining Orsingher Ortu Avvocati Associati, he worked in the boutique law firm led by Professor Francesco Galgano and at a leading Italian multi-practice law firm. Carlo Arsie

Carlo Arsie graduated in law from the University of Padua in 2013, with a dissertation in bankruptcy law. He practised at law firms in Padua, Naples and Milan, dealing with civil, corporate, banking, finance and insolvency litigation, which still represent his areas of expertise. He joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in 2023. He was admitted to the Italian Bar in 2016 and speaks English.

Lorenzo Battista

Lorenzo Battista graduated in law from the University of Siena in July 2021, discussing a thesis in civil law focused on contractual abuse and unfair commercial practices. He subsequently joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in November 2021. He speaks English and has a basic knowledge of French.

Matilde Bellinazzi

Matilde Bellinazzi graduated in law cum laude from Trento University in 2019 with a thesis in civil procedure and was awarded an LL.M in Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law at Washington University of St. Louis. After graduation she collaborated with a commercial law firm based in London and joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in 2020. While with the firm, Matilde has undertaken a secondment at the European Privacy department of a major e-commerce operator, acquiring an extensive knowledge in the field of Data Protection. Matilde focuses mainly on this subject and on Media and Intellectual Property Law. Camilla Benericetti

Camilla Benericetti graduated with honors in Law at Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna in 2021, discussing a dissertation in Copyright Law entitled ‘Copyright and Freedom of Expression and Information in Europe in light of Directive 790/2019’. In 2020, she obtained a Master’s degree (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property and Information Law from King’s College London. After a five-months experience as a Trainee at the Tribunal of Bologna, Camilla joined the team of Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in 2021. During her collaboration with the firm, she was seconded to the European Privacy legal department of a major e-commerce operator, developing a broad knowledge in the field of data protection, which she continues to deal with as well as lending her support in media and intellectual property law, with a particular interest in copyright law. She speaks fluent English and has a basic knowledge of French.

Lorenzo Berto

Lorenzo Berto graduated with honours in law from the University of Turin in 2017, with a dissertation in international arbitration. In 2015, he spent a semester at the Center for Transnational Legal Studies, in London. In 2022, he obtained the LL.M. in Law of Internet Technology at Bocconi University, Milan. Marta Bianchi

Marta Bianchi graduated in Law from Pisa University in 2017. She represented her university in the National Model United Nations in New York and she joined the Erasmus program in Germany. She practiced civil law in a boutique firm and then worked as intern at the Italian Competition Authority. She also accomplished a second level Master’s Degree in company law at LUISS G. Carli University in Rome, with a final dissertation on the: “Co-investment and wholesale only: analysis and critical issues of articles 76 and 80 of the European Electronic Communications Code“. Following a period of internship in the legal department of a leading e-commerce company, she worked with the law firm Lipani Catricalà & Partners and then she joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in September 2021. Cecilia Biscottini

Cecilia Biscottini graduated from the University of Rome “LUISS” in 2015, with a final dissertation on Employment and Industrial Relations law. Cecilia previously practised at Boursier Niutta & Partners, joining  Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in 2022. Melania Cantore

Melania Cantore graduated in law from Bocconi University in Milan in 2015 and was admitted to the Milan Bar in 2018. She began her career in the corporate department of an Italian law firm based in Milan, specialising in corporate law and transactions. During that time she was also seconded for a period to the corporate affairs department of the listed company Fiera Milano S.p.A. Melania joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in January 2019. Francesco Cesaroni

Francesco Cesaroni graduated in law from the Luigi Bocconi University of Milan in 2007, with a thesis on European Union law entitled “Freedom of establishment and freedom to provide services in the European insurance market”. He worked for a leading national law firm and spent several months at Pigott Stinson in Sydney. Francesco then also worked with McDermott Will & Emery first, and then Hi.lex, where he was mainly involved in commercial and corporate law matters, assisting clients in extraordinary transactions and insolvency proceedings, with a particular focus on private debt and restructuring, as well as private equity. From 2017 to 2018, Francesco provided his services on a secondment in the legal department of a major asset management company specialising in alternative investment funds. Francesca Costarelli

Francesca Costarelli graduated in law with honors in 2020 at the University of Macerata and was a student at the University College of Merit “Scuola di Studi Superiori G. Leopardi”. Camilla Cristalli

Camilla Cristalli graduated with honors in law from the Alma Mater Studiorum of Bologna in 2019 with a dissertation on “Standard essential patents and FRAND licenses: seeking a balance between antitrust law and the law of intellectual property”. Simona Del Greco

Simona graduated in law with full marks from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” in 2019, with a dissertation on intellectual property law. Tommaso Di Prospero

Tommaso Di Prospero has graduated in law from the University of Roma Tre in March 2022. During his academic career, he attended the exchange programme at the Universidade de Lisboa. He also represented his university in the international commercial arbitration competition “Willelm C. Vis Moot”, held in Vienna. Teresa Di Tella

Teresa Di Tella graduated with honors in 2018 from the Università di Milano-Bicocca, with a law dissertation on: “Liability of the legal person: a comparative analysis between Italy and United States of America“. In 2016 she spent a six-month term at the University of Zagreb, Croatia and in 2017 a dissertation research period at the University of the Pacific – McGeorge School of Law, California. Teresa joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in 2023, where she focuses on corporate law, commercial contracts, extraordinary transactions and corporate advince. Chiara Dubrovich

Chiara Dubrovich graduated with honours in law from the University of Milan in February 2022, with a thesis in bankruptcy law on “Liability actions against directors and the quantification of damages”. For the purposes of her thesis, Chiara worked as stagiaire at an accountants firm. Tommaso Emiliani

Federica Franchetti

Federica Franchetti graduated in law with honours in 2017 at the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna with a graduation dissertation on industrial law titled “The experimental use exception and contributory infringement: the relationship between IP protection and freedom of scientific research”. Later she obtained a second-level master’s degree in competition law and innovation at the LUISS Guido Carli University of Rome with a dissertation on the patent protection of the inventions conceived by artificial intelligence systems. She is a teaching fellow in intellectual property law at the Milano-Bicocca University. Tommaso Giavarini

Giulia Giorgini

Giulia Giorgini graduated in law from the University of Roma Tre in 2017, with a dissertation on tax law entitled “The unlawful acquisition of financial information abroad: fiscal aspects”. Elena Marchetto graduated in law with honours in 2006 at Bocconi University, with a dissertation in Italian procedural law titled: “Legislative Decree n. 40/2006 and effects of the arbitral award”, that was awarded by Associazione Italiana per l’Arbitrato (A.I.A.). Before joining Orsingher Ortu she worked for Pojaghi & associati, where she gained experience on copyright law, civil and commercial law, and for Bonelli Erede Pappalardo in the intellectual property department, where she assisted clients in the matters of intellectual property law, IT, data protection, unfair competition, advertising and consumer law. She also worked as corporate counsel in a local company operating in the agricultural sector. Francesca Maso

Francesca Maso graduated in Law from the University of Padua. She started her professional experience in a law firm in Venice, gaining experience mainly in litigation in civil and banking law; she then collaborated with an associated firm in Milan, following a well-known company operating in the field of securitization transactions and management of performing and non performing credits. In 2018 she joined Giovanardi Pototschnig & Associati (later Giovanardi Studio Legale), where she has been mainly involved in litigation in the field of civil, banking and bankruptcy law. Chiara Miante

Chiara Miante graduated in law from the University of Ferrara with a dissertation in intellectual property law entitled “The protection of well-known trademarks in the European, American and Japanese frameworks”. Giancarlo Moretti

Giancarlo Moretti graduated with honours from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan in 2010 with a dissertation in EU law on barriers to the free movement of goods. In 2014 he completed an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law at Queen Mary, University of London, where he was subsequently admitted to the Ph.D programme and awarded the Herchel Smith Scholarship. Enrico Pernice

Maria Rebecca Perugini

Maria Rebecca Perugini graduated with honours in law from the Università degli Studi di Perugia in 2018 with a dissertation on corporate governance, in particular the two-tier and one-tier corporate management and control models of joint-stock companies, and served an internship in the corporate affairs department of a London-based company. Andrea Piatti

Andrea Piatti graduated in law from the Catholic University of Milan in April 2018. A part of his studies was spent as a visiting student at the University of Chicago, where he undertook research for his dissertation on “Blockchain technology and post-trading infrastructures”. Fausto Pozzi

Fausto Pozzi graduated with honours in law from the University of Milan in March 2020, with a thesis in civil law on “Smart contracts: a study of the US and Italian legal positions”. Federica Salmoiraghi

Federica Rosanna Salmoiraghi graduated in law cum laude from the University of Pavia in 2010 with a thesis in administrative law. She also collaborated as teaching assistant with the Department of administrative law at the same University. Prior to joining Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati, she worked as a lawyer for leading law firms specializing in administrative law, including the law firm of Prof. Guarino and the law firm of Cancrini and Partners. She mainly works in the area of administrative law with a focus on public contracts, energy and trade. She has acquired significant experience in administrative litigation with particular reference to disputes on public contracts, energy and in anti-mafia interdiction disputes. She advises public administrations and private operators in procedures for the awarding of public contracts as well as in proceedings before the Independent Administrative Authorities. She participated in seminars and conferences as a lecturer and speaker (recent one include the Sole 24 Ore Business School’s “Public Procurement” master’s degree and the seminar concerning engineering services as part of the specialized advanced course on public contracts and services of general interest of the Italian Society of Administrative Lawyers and the European University of Rome). She has been a lawyer since 2014 and joined the Rome Bar since 2016.

Marina Sartor

Marina Sartor graduated in law from the Bocconi University in October 2016 with a dissertation in labour law entitled “Dismissal for business reasons: dismissal for objectively justified reasons and collective dismissal”. During her studies, Marina attended the Campus Abroad Program at the University of California – Los Angeles (UCLA) and the Exchange Program at University of Sussex in the UK. Marina joined the Labour Department of Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in February 2016, where she assist domestic and international clients on all aspects of employment and labour law, in both contentious and non-contentious contexts. Francesco Senesi

Francesco Senesi graduated from Bocconi University of Milan in 2016 with a dissertation in corporate law titled “Role and requirements of independent directors: a comparative analysis with the corporate law of the United States”. In 2013 he attended as an Exchange Student the University of California – Hastings College of the Law, San Francisco (California) where he focused his studies in the fundamentals of the common law. Following internships at two international law firms in Milan, in October 2016 he joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati. He focuses mainly on banking and finance law. He was admitted to the Italian Bar in February 2019. He is fluent in English and has a basic knowledge of French.

Olga Sihtar

Olga Sihtar graduated cum laude with a law degree from the University “Alma Mater” of Bologna in 2017 with a dissertation in comparative private law titled “Record Deals: the circulation of the Common Law model”. She holds a Master of Laws degree (LLM) in Intellectual Property Law at King’s College, London. During her university studies she was vice-chair of the International Bar Association (IBA) Law Students’ Committee. In April of 2017 she joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati. Olga was admitted to the Italian Bar in 2020 and speaks English and Croatian fluently.

Mattia Sogaro

Mattia Sogaro graduated in law from the University of Milan in 2013 with a thesis focused on the new legal institution provided for by Section 161(6) of the Italian Bankruptcy Law (concordato in bianco). He previously practised at Simmons & Simmons, covering a broad range of both private equity and turnaround transactions. In 2016, he joined Studio Legale Sparano, focusing on debt restructuring and insolvency proceedings and gaining experience in various sectors (e.g. energy, fashion, automotive, real estate). Mattia advises Italian and international clients (including corporate groups and investment funds) on debt restructuring (both voluntary and court-mandated) and Italian and international investors on the purchase of assets in the context of insolvency proceedings. He was admitted to practice in 2013 and joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in September 2021. Mattia speaks English.

Enrico Spagnolello

Enrico Spagnolello graduated in law from the University of Catania in 2015 with a thesis in European Union Law, entitled “European antitrust and competition in the sports sector”. In 2017, Enrico holds a Master’s degree in Competition and Innovation law from LUISS Guido Carli in Rome. Before joining Orsingher Ortu Avvocati Associati in September 2021, Enrico, after a stage in the Attorney General Office of Rome, worked at Lipani Catricalà & Partners Law Firm since September 2016. Enrico mainly assists companies active in different sectors on issues related to competition and regulatory law, in judicial, procedural, and extrajudicial areas. Enrico is the author of several publications on matters of competition law and he collaborates with Rivista di Diritto Sportivo of the Italian Olympic Committee. He was admitted to the Italian bar in 2020. Enrico speaks English and has a basic knowledge of French.

Yara Toriello

Yara Toriello graduated with a law degree from University of Milan in March 2015 with a dissertation titled “The phenomenon of forum shopping in the EU law concerning the private antitrust enforcement”. In the same year, she joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati, where she gained experience both in the contentious and non–contentious spheres on matters concerning intellectual property, unfair competition, advertising, consumers, data protection and information technology. Yara assists well-known multinational companies of the luxury sector, in particular in relation to the Worldwide supervision of their anti-counterefeiting and brand protection activities. She was admitted to practice in 2017. She’s fluent in English and Portuguese, and has a good knowledge of French and Spanish.

Riccardo Valgoi

Riccardo Valgoi graduated in law from the University of Milan in March 2018 with a banking law dissertation on the subject of “The Single Supervisory Mechanism: European banking supervision developments, between integration and subsidiarity”. He subsequently worked as an intern with the banking and finance department of a primary international law firm. In October 2018, he joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati, focusing mainly on banking and finance law. He speaks English fluently.

Alice Viganò

Alice Viganò graduated in law from the State University of Milan (Università Statale di Milano) in July 2016, with a dissertation in the field of labour law, focused on the reforms undertaken in the fields of the procedure for dismissals of employees and of fixed-term employment contracts in the period 2012-2016. Alice attended the Exchange Program at Sheffield Hallam University in the UK in 2012-2013. Before joining Orsingher Ortu, she practiced in the Labour Department of Studio Rizzoglio. She is fluent in English and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.

Francesco Vittori Antisari

Francesco Vittori Antisari graduated in law in March 2018 from the University “Alma Mater” of Bologna with a dissertation on “Inventions by employees and researchers of Universities and Public Research Institutions”. Before joining Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in 2021, he practiced at Rucellai & Raffaelli. Francesco focuses mainly on Intellectual Property and Information Technology matters. He has been admitted to the Italian Bar in 2021 and speaks English fluently.
