
Marco Consonni graduated in Law from the University of Milan. He began his professional career at the then-prominent English law firm Frere Cholmeley Bischoff, before joining Andersen Legal, where he was made partner in 1996. He later co-founded the Milan office of the Galgano law firm and led its TMT and Commercial Department until the firm’s merger with Dewey & LeBoeuf (then Dewey Ballantine), where he headed the Italian IP/IT practice. In 2011, Marco and his team joined Orsingher Avvocati Associati to help establish a firm with a strong focus on the TMT sector. For many years, Marco has primarily advised clients in the communications, media, technology, fashion, and sports industries. He assists numerous international companies across a wide range of commercial and corporate matters, including the formation and structuring of corporate entities, start-ups, joint ventures and investment agreements, licensing and distribution contracts, and the development and commercialization of intellectual property rights and technological assets. His practice also encompasses advertising and sponsorship initiatives, e-commerce strategies, and digital activities. In addition, his work also includes commercial and sector-specific litigation, including arbitration proceedings, particularly for clients operating in the communications, internet, and IT sectors. He is admitted to practice before the Italian Supreme Court. He is fluent in English, French, and Spanish. A long-standing member of the ITechLaw Association, he has also served as co-chair of its E-Commerce Committee.
