Federica Franchetti graduated in law with honours in 2017 at the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna with a graduation dissertation on industrial law titled “The experimental use exception and contributory infringement: the relationship between IP protection and freedom of scientific research”. Later she obtained a second-level master’s degree in competition law and innovation at the LUISS Guido Carli University of Rome with a dissertation on the patent protection of the inventions conceived by artificial intelligence systems. She is a teaching fellow in intellectual property law at the Milano-Bicocca University. From 2017 to 2022, she worked for the Bonelli Erede Law Firm, gaining experience in industrial and intellectual property and unfair competition matters, mainly assisting clients in patent matters, both in judicial and extra-judicial contexts. She joined the Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati Law Firm in 2022. She has been admitted to the Italian Bar in 2019. She speaks English, has a good knowledge of German and a basic knowledge of French.
