Giancarlo Moretti graduated with honours from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan in 2010 with a dissertation in EU law on barriers to the free movement of goods. He hold an LL.M. (2014, distinction) and a Ph.D. (2025, passed without amendments) in Intellectual Property Law at Queen Mary, University of London, where he was also awarded with the Herchel Smith Scholarship of Cambridge University. He has gained experience at leading law firms advising clients across various industries on intellectual property, unfair competition and IT matters. He joined Orsingher Ortu Avvocati Associati in 2021. He is the author of a number of articles on intellectual property law and has been invited to lecture on this area of law at various universities. He was admitted to practice in 2017. He speaks English fluently and has a basic knowledge of French.
